Getting Started with Proxies

Basics, authentication, and your first successful request.

This guide introduces proxy fundamentals and walks you through authenticating and making your first successful request using AnonEdge.

    What is a Proxy?

A proxy routes your traffic through an intermediary IP address. This helps control geolocation, manage identity, and improve success rates for data collection.

    Authentication

    • Username/Password: Use the credentials provided in your dashboard.
    • IP Allowlisting: Add your server’s IP to allowlist and connect without credentials.

    First Request

    1. Choose a pool: residential, datacenter, or mobile.
    2. Copy the proxy endpoint from your dashboard.
    3. Configure your client (browser, code, or tool) to use the endpoint.
    4. Test with a simple request to confirm IP and location.
Tip: Start with residential for sensitive targets, then test datacenter for speed if your target is tolerant.
