This guide introduces proxy fundamentals and walks you through authenticating and making your first successful request using AnonEdge.
What is a Proxy?
A proxy routes your traffic through an intermediary IP address. This helps control geolocation, manage identity, and improve success rates for data collection.
Authentication
- Username/Password: Use the credentials provided in your dashboard.
- IP Allowlisting: Add your server’s IP to allowlist and connect without credentials.
First Request
- Choose a pool: residential, datacenter, or mobile.
- Copy the proxy endpoint from your dashboard.
- Configure your client (browser, code, or tool) to use the endpoint.
- Test with a simple request to confirm IP and location.
Tip: Start with residential for sensitive targets, then test datacenter for speed if your target is tolerant.
